The Wanderweg is the pack we made first and have changed least. 28 litres of 18 oz waxed cotton canvas over a 3 mm foam back panel, with a padded 16-inch laptop sleeve that lifts 4 cm off the base so a dropped bag does not land on the screen. The roll-top closes down to about 20 litres for a commute and opens out for a two-day hut trip, and the leather-tab compression straps double as a place to strap a wet jacket. It weighs 1.1 kg empty, which is not the lightest pack in the category, and we have never pretended otherwise.
