It is the weight we settled on after three winters of arguing: heavy enough to wear alone at 5 °C, light enough that it does not sulk under a shell. The body is cut long at the back so it stays put under a pack hip belt, and the cuffs are ribbed 4 cm deep so they still grip after a season. There is no third-party fulfilment, which is why we can tell you exactly where an order is. ## When it leaves us Orders placed before 13:00 CET on a working day go out the same afternoon. Anything after that, or at a weekend, goes the next working day. The tracking number reaches you by email the moment the label is scanned, not when it is printed — so if you have the number, the parcel is genuinely on its way. If tracking has not moved for four working days, write to us and we will chase the carrier rather than asking you to. ## If something goes missing We treat a parcel as lost after 10 working days domestically and 30 internationally, and we replace it at our cost without asking you to open a claim with the carrier. That is longer than the 14 days EU law requires, and the extra days are ours, not a legal obligation — your statutory right of withdrawal is described at the bottom of this page and is unaffected by anything above it. ## How to send something back - Write to [hallo@fernweh.example](mailto:hallo@fernweh.example) with your order number, or ask in the chat on this site. - We email a prepaid label for Germany and the EU. Elsewhere we refund the return postage once the parcel arrives. - Refunds go back to the original payment method within three working days of the parcel reaching us. Cards take a further two to five days to show it. ## What we can take back Unworn, unwashed items in resaleable condition, with tags where they had them. Merino that has been worn once is fine — we would rather you tried it than guessed. Underwear and socks that have been worn are not, for reasons that need no explanation. Sale items return at the price you paid. ## Repairs We repair anything we made, for as long as we can get the parts, and for the first three years we do it free including postage. After that it is charged at cost — typically €15 to €40 for a zip, a strap or a re-stitch — and we tell you the price before we start. Send a photograph first; half of what people ask about turns out to be a five-minute fix they can do at home, and we will say so. ## Guarantee Three years against manufacturing fault, from the delivery date, on everything except the ink and the paper refills. A fault is a seam, a zip, a weld or a coating that failed doing what the product is for. Wear is not a fault, and neither is a bag that was overloaded past its rating. ## Your statutory right of withdrawal As a consumer in the EU you may withdraw from this contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason. To do so, tell us in a clear statement — an email is enough. We will refund all payments received, including standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of being told. Held in this store's own database on its own isolated volume. - **Account data** — if you sign in as the provided demo customer, your session cookie and the order history attached to that account. - **Technical logs** — request paths and timestamps, kept for seven days for operational reasons and then deleted. ## What it does not store No payment details ever reach this store: the demo does not take real payments and has no card processor attached. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics pixels and no third-party scripts that profile you. These terms are written as a real shop's terms would be, because a demo with lorem ipsum in it teaches nobody anything. ## Prices Prices are in euro and include German VAT at 19% for orders inside the EU. Orders outside the EU are charged without VAT and are subject to import duty in the destination country.
