This is a demonstration store. It is not a real trading company, and you should not enter real personal data into it. Everything below describes how the demo behaves, honestly, so that it is a useful example of a privacy page rather than a placeholder.

## What this site stores

- **Order data** — the name, address and email attached to an order, the items and the amount. Held in this store's own database on its own isolated volume.
- **Account data** — if you sign in as the provided demo customer, your session cookie and the order history attached to that account.
- **Technical logs** — request paths and timestamps, kept for seven days for operational reasons and then deleted.

## What it does not store

No payment details ever reach this store: the demo does not take real payments and has no card processor attached. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics pixels and no third-party scripts that profile you. Nothing is sold, shared or transferred to anyone.

## The assistant

If you use the chat on this site, your messages are processed to answer them and to call the store's own tools on your behalf — looking up an order, checking stock. Ask the assistant to hand you to a person and it will stop and do that instead.

## Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and we act on that within 30 days. For this demo, the fastest route is to ask in the chat, or write to [privacy@fernweh.example](mailto:privacy@fernweh.example).

## Cookies

Two: a session cookie that keeps your cart between pages, and one that remembers you dismissed the cookie notice. Both expire when you close the browser or within 30 days. There is no third-party cookie on this site at all.
